This project is perfect for kids of all ages, the little drawings from younger kids are so sweet but even older kids can make this project special. I was worried that the intricate cuts would curl up or something would go catastrophically wrong, but for the most part, they turned out perfectly. For our first DIY project, we will create a set of colorful keychains using permanent markers on Shrinky Dinks.

They were so big so they curled and melted the top before they went flat. Of course, follow the directions on the package for your shrink film, but here is what we did. Go into your printer properties and select “Matte Photo Paper” or “Transparency Film”, then print out your image.

If you are using permanent markers, you can skip this step if you ant to, but other colouring methods will need this textured surface to stick to the shrink plastic sheet.
